Tips For Happiness

10 Habits That Everyone Should To Live Happily
https://behapppyy.blogspot.com/2020/07/tips-for-happiness.html

There’s an unfortunate reason why happiness is often elusive. Our brains simply aren’t wired that way. Instead, our brains have evolved to survive, to protect ourselves, to keep us safe. Sure, we have moments of elation and periods of contentment and bliss. But many of us are plagued with persistent negative emotions. Everyone wants to be happy in life. While individuals may define success or measure happiness differently, there are some basic qualities of a happy life that seem to be universal. Learning how to live better and feel more positive about the world around you can help you live a happy and meaningful life. Check out these 10 exciting tips for living a happy life.

Number 1. Do what you love. If your passion is playing soccer, playing video games, or teaching children how to swim, make time to do it. You will find that when you’re doing what you love, you’re filled with joy. How much better does that sound than forcing yourself do something you don’t like? It’s pretty hard to maintain happiness if you hate your job. Focus on building a career in an area that motivates you and will provide you with a high level of satisfaction, and your happiness factor will go up exponentially.

Number 2. Accept imperfection. Many of us strive for perfection. We desire to push ourselves to be our best. Perfectionism is a mind-set that eats at you and your happiness. Saying yes to being imperfect can turn that around. Perfection is impossible, and holding ourselves and others to these standards is futile. We will always end up feeling let down.
Accept that life is imperfect and recognize that there is beauty and grace in that imperfection.

Number 3. Build meaningful relationships Happiness, love, friendship and community go hand in hand. As humans, we have a fundamental need to interact and connect with others. We naturally seek our tribe. The people who will support us, understand us and be there for us through life’s roller-coaster ride. Without meaningful relationships, we are lonely and isolated. We’re happier when we pursue happiness with others. This is why learning how to develop better relationships helps you live happily for life.

Number 4. Stop comparison with others We usually only get to see the highlights reel of other’s lives. Comparing your behind-the-scenes to that will only makes you unhappy in the long run. It’s time for change. Most importantly, stop comparing your things to all the things everyone else has. Social media has a way of making us feel like everyone else has it better than us. How often does scrolling through your news feed make you feel negative emotions? Allowing envy and resentment to take root robs us of appreciating what we already have in life.

Number 5. Cultivate gratitude. When you think of all the things that you have to be grateful for, you realize how blessed you already are. Giving thanks and being grateful for all you have will make you happier and more content. Gratitude is a thankful appreciation for what you have received in life. Those gifts may be tangible or intangible. When you spend time each day acknowledging all that is good in life, you will see there is more good than you realize, and you will find that sadness, anxiety and depression are diminished. A roof over your head and plenty of food to eat. By appreciating the things that you already have, you will begin to feel happier in your life.

Number 6. Let go of expectations. The best things in life are unexpected, because there were no expectations. There are a lots of things that can steal our happiness. Many of the things that we think are issues, problems or obstacles are actually things that we can choose to let go of. Expectation is the belief that something has to go a certain way. If the expectation is not met, the following emotions can result: stress, sadness, disappointment or even anger. Nothing can go well if expectations are not met. Once we let go of expectation, everything becomes a blessing.

Number 7. Dump Negative Thinking You already know that negative thinking will bring you down. So how do you stop it? Become more aware of it and try replacing your negative thoughts with some positive ones. Spend less time with negative people and more time with positive people. In any given situation we have a choice. Look at what’s good and be grateful, or look at what’s wrong and complain. If we learn to think positive instead, we can make even the most obnoxious situations more enjoyable, creating a happier life from the one we have now.

Number 8. Forgive and Forget Holding a grudge will harm you more than the person you are holding it against. Ask yourself, “What would it take for me to let go of the past?” and notice how you feel when you let go of your anger for a few seconds. Focus instead on a bright future and you will feel better for it. Forgiving is not always easy and can take time but there are some things that can make it a little easier. It’s often easy to forgive others for their mistakes, but hard to forgive yourself. We all make mistakes, and we often learn from those mistakes. That’s what makes someone a stronger, more caring individual.

Number 9. Stop worrying Constantly worrying about everything creates toxic anxiety, where your mind is steeped in negative, spiraling thoughts. Worries plague your mind and make you afraid and apprehensive about things you often have no control over. Sometimes we believe that if we worry enough, we can keep bad things from happening. But the truth is, you cannot experience joy or even contentment when you’re consumed by worry. Constant worrying, negative thinking, and always expecting the worst can take a toll on your emotional and physical health.

Number 10. Help and give Others Sometimes after we have achieved our own personal goals, we still feel empty from inside because we haven’t made a meaningful contribution to someone else’s life. Give to others in need. Give to those you love and care for. Those who give back have a sense of selflessness and humanitarianism. The secret to living is giving. Those who are generous in spending money on others tend to have good health, perhaps because giving has a feel-good effect that lowers blood pressure and stress. The impact we make feels fulfilling and is a big potential source for our own happiness.
